Bluetooth Device Not Connecting? Use This Pairing Reset
Headphones, speakers, cars, keyboards, and TVs often fail to pair because they are still connected somewhere else or have an old saved connection.
Quick answer
Charge both devices, keep them close together, and turn Bluetooth off on any phone or tablet that used the accessory before. Then place the accessory in its real pairing mode and try again.
Try these checks in order
Charge and restart both devices
Low battery can prevent pairing even when lights still turn on. Charge the accessory, restart the phone or computer, and try within a few feet.
Disconnect it from old devices
Headphones and speakers often reconnect to the last phone automatically. Temporarily turn Bluetooth off on that phone, tablet, TV, or computer.
Enter pairing mode
Powering on is not always pairing mode. Follow the manufacturer's button or light sequence until the pairing indicator flashes as described in the official manual.
Forget the saved connection
On the phone or computer, remove or Forget the accessory from Bluetooth settings. Then search and pair it as a new device.
Check the right audio output
A successful Bluetooth connection does not always switch sound automatically. Open the device's sound-output menu and select the headphones, speaker, or car.
Reset only the accessory if needed
If the official manual provides a Bluetooth reset, use that before resetting network settings on the phone or computer. Network resets can remove saved Wi-Fi connections.
Stop troubleshooting and get the right help if:
- The accessory battery is swollen, leaking, unusually hot, or damaged.
- The device requests an unexpected account password, payment, or remote-control app.
- The accessory is part of a medical, safety, or accessibility system that needs manufacturer support.
